Sarcococa saligna is a native of the Himalayas and has lance shaped glossy green leaves hence the common name Willow Leaf Sweet Box. This is an evergreen compact shrub growing to 1m. In autumn tiny buds appear along the stems which open to fragrant greenish white flowers in late winter and early spring. The flowers are sometimes followed by purple berries. Plant in sun or partial shade in moist but well drained soil.
